The American Tactical Alpha Maxx 410 is an AR-platform semi-automatic .410 bore shotgun (firearm-classed, non-NFA) built on a gas-operated AR-15 style action with a detachable 5-round box magazine. The Gen3 carbine model uses an 18.5-inch smooth-bore barrel chambered for 3-inch shells, a 13-inch free-float M-LOK polymer handguard, flip-up sights, and a carbon-fiber-infused nylon polymer upper and lower receiver. A recoil buffer tames felt recoil, and it ships with a cylinder choke tube.
American Tactical's Alpha Maxx line answered a niche craving among AR builders: a magazine-fed, gas-operated .410 shotgun that drops onto a standard AR-15 lower, turning a rifle platform into a low-recoil scattergun without an NFA stamp.
Sold both as a complete firearm and as an upper-receiver shotgun conversion kit for standard AR-15 lowers. A bird's-head/braced pistol variant (HGA) uses an 8.75-inch rifled barrel with a 1:20 twist. Weight figure (~8.6 lb) is the manufacturer/retailer-listed weight for the 18.5-inch carbine model.
