Billing
Is the free tier really free?
Explorer costs nothing and takes no card. It answers the list endpoint with the minimal field set, at 200 requests a month and 10 a minute, so you can see the shape of a record before you decide anything.
Read the policyWhat currency are the prices in?
US dollars. Subscriptions are charged in USD whatever your country, and the figure on the card is the figure you are billed.

Yes, at any time, and the change takes effect immediately. An upgrade charges the difference for the rest of the period straight away; a downgrade credits the unused part of your current plan against your next invoice.

Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then does not renew. We do not prorate a partial period unless the law requires it.

Case by case. If you were charged incorrectly, or charged for a renewal you meant to cancel, write to us within 30 days of the charge and we will look at it in good faith.

What happens when I hit a limit?
The request is refused with a 429 and a header saying when the window resets. Nothing is silently billed on top, and no plan bills for overage: a limit is a limit rather than a meter.

Yes, on any plan, within your tier’s limits. The compilation is licensed to you rather than assigned, and the individual specifications are compiled from public sources.
