What it is, and why it matters
The Walther LP400 is a single-shot, pre-charged pneumatic 10-metre match air pistol chambered in .177 (4.5 mm) for ISSF Olympic-discipline air pistol competition. It uses a removable aluminium air cylinder charged to 200 bar, a carbon-jacketed rifled barrel with the RESORBER two-phase compensator, a two-stage trigger adjustable to roughly 500 grams, and a fully adjustable MEMORY 3D grip. Variants include the flagship LP400 Carbon, the LP400 Alu, and the entry-level LP400 Club.
The LP400 succeeded Walther's earlier LP300 and became one of the dominant pistols in Olympic and ISSF 10-metre air pistol events, prized for its low felt disturbance and infinitely adjustable ergonomics.
Sometimes erroneously catalogued as an Anschutz product; the LP400 is manufactured by Carl Walther. Anschutz produces match air rifles but not the LP400 air pistol.
