What it is, and why it matters
The ATA Neo X is an inertia-driven semi-automatic shotgun introduced in 2024 by the Turkish firearms maker ATA Silah Sanayi (ATA Arms) as the updated successor to the earlier Neo autoloader. Chambered in 12 gauge with a 3-inch (76mm) magnum chamber, it uses a simple recoil-inertia operating system with a rotating bolt head and no gas cylinder, keeping the gun light and clean-handling. A representative 28-inch multichoke barrel wears a ventilated rib and a red fiber-optic front bead, while the reshaped receiver adds an oversized extended bolt-release button and an enlarged charging handle for faster manipulation. It ships with a set of extended choke tubes and stock shims on a matte-finished aluminium-alloy receiver, and is sold worldwide in black-synthetic and patterned-camo field configurations.
ATA Arms grew from a long line of Turkish gunmakers around Konya and Istanbul into one of the country's largest shotgun exporters; the Neo X modernises its popular inertia autoloader with oversized, glove-friendly controls and red-anodised accents aimed at waterfowl and clay shooters.
Successor to the ATA Neo. Sources list the 3-inch magazine capacity as 5+1; capacity varies by market and configuration (field guns are often plugged to fewer rounds). Barrels are offered in a range of lengths (approximately 24 to 32 inches); figures listed reflect a representative 12-gauge 28-inch black-synthetic model. ATA Arms is a major Turkish shotgun OEM that also builds guns for export under several Western brand names.
