What it is, and why it matters
The Chiappa LA322 Bandit is a lever-action .22 LR pistol shown for 2026, built on the LA322 rimfire lever gun with a 12-inch barrel, a nine-round tubular magazine and no shoulder stock. It keeps the LA322's aluminium receiver and Winchester-style lever operation in a large-format pistol package aimed at plinking and small-game work.
Lever-action pistols are almost entirely an American frontier fantasy - the 'mare's leg' cut-down carbine from television Westerns. Chiappa has been building them straight from the factory since the 2000s.
