The Arizmendi Victor is a Spanish .25 ACP blowback semi-automatic vest-pocket pistol produced by Francisco Arizmendi y Goenaga of Eibar. It is one of the many Eibar pocket automatics patterned on John Browning's 1906 striker-fired vest-pocket design, built to cottage-industry standards and sold under the 'Victor' trade name. Like its stablemates it is a small, concealable single-action pistol intended for civilian self-defence and the export trade.
In the early 20th century the Basque town of Eibar produced a bewildering flood of near-identical Browning-pattern pocket automatics under dozens of fanciful trade names, and Francisco Arizmendi alone sold essentially the same little .25 under Victor, Singer, Roland and more, leaving collectors to untangle which name belongs to which maker.
'Victor' was one of several trade names used by Francisco Arizmendi y Goenaga alongside Singer, Roland, Ideal, Gecado, Brunswig and Ydeal. The same basic Browning 1906-pattern .25 ACP pocket pistol was marketed under multiple names; exact per-model figures were not separately recorded and follow the standard Eibar vest-pocket pattern.
