What it is, and why it matters
The FX Panthera is a regulated pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle introduced in 2022 by FX Airguns of Sweden. Built on a compact in-line platform with a rear 300cc carbon-fibre air bottle and a reversible side-lever cocking action, it uses the AMP MkII adjustable regulator and a tunable hammer and valve to deliver high, repeatable power, reaching roughly 145 joules (107 ft-lb) in .25 calibre on the 700mm-barrel model. Offered in .177, .22, .25, and .30 calibres with interchangeable barrels and built around the FX Dynamic plenum and Smooth Twist X liner, it is aimed at precision long-range target shooting and airgun hunting.
FX Airguns was founded by Swedish airgun designer Fredrik Axelsson; the Panthera distilled the brand's modular, tool-tunable Impact technology into a lighter, more conventional in-line rifle layout for hunters and extreme-range pellet and slug shooters.
Sold in 500mm, 600mm, and 700mm barrel configurations plus a Hunter Compact model; figures here are for the Panthera 700 in .25 calibre. Magazine capacity varies by calibre (15 in .25).
