What it is, and why it matters
The Hämmerli P220 KK (Kleinkaliber) is a rare .22 Long Rifle training version of the SIG P220 service pistol, built by SIG-Hämmerli of Switzerland. It preserves the external dimensions and traditional double-action handling of the 9mm P220 (the Swiss Army's Pistole 75) so shooters could train economically while retaining the feel of the standard service sidearm. Unlike a drop-in conversion kit it is a dedicated blowback rimfire design, and it was produced only as a small experimental batch of test pistols for army and police marksmanship training.
Only about forty of these .22 LR trainers were ever built, each carrying an 'H' prefix serial number outside the normal SIG P220 range — making the little rimfire twin of Switzerland's service pistol one of the rarest members of the P220 family.
Documented from a surviving example in the separate 'H' prefix serial range (H001001–H001040), of which only about 40 were made. Weight and magazine capacity for the rimfire model are not reliably documented; dimensions follow the standard SIG P220 external envelope.
