The M110A1 CSASS (Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System) was developed as a lighter and more compact successor based on the Heckler & Koch G28/HK417 platform rather than the SR-25. The M110A2 variant was first seen in service in early 2022. The original M110 weighs approximately 15.3 pounds unloaded and can sustain a practical rate of fire of 24 rounds per minute.
