About
What it is, and why it matters
The M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR) is a .300 Winchester Magnum bolt-action sniper rifle that replaced the M24 SWS in United States Army service. Developed by PEO Soldier and built by Remington Defense, the M2010 reuses the M24's Remington Model 700 long action receiver but rechambers it for the more powerful .300 Winchester Magnum cartridge, extending effective range from 800 to 1,200 meters. The rifle incorporates a modern chassis system with folding stock, suppressor, and the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm variable-power scope.
The M2010 represents the fulfillment of a 25-year plan. When the US Army solicited the M24 in 1985, special operations forces insisted on a long action receiver that could be rechambered to .300 Winchester Magnum. It took until 2010 for the Army to finally execute this conversion, extending the sniper's effective engagement range by 50% and giving Army snipers the ability to engage targets at ranges previously achievable only with .338 Lapua Magnum or .50 BMG weapons.
The M2010 program fulfilled the original vision behind the M24's long action receiver, which was deliberately oversized in 1988 to allow future recalibering from 7.62 NATO to .300 Winchester Magnum without a new receiver. The conversion involved fitting a new .300 WM barrel, a Remington Defense-built aluminum chassis stock, AAC Titan-QD suppressor, and the Leupold Mark 4 ER/T scope. The folding stock reduces the overall length to 978mm for transport. The system weighs approximately 8.4 kg with suppressor and loaded magazine. Initial fielding began in Afghanistan in late 2010, with approximately 3,600 M24 rifles converted to M2010 configuration.

Trajectory
What the round does downrange
Solved from the muzzle figures and the bullet. The dashed rule is the effective range on the record, and the crosses are the steps the solver returned.
No load solved for this record yetThe flight path is computed from a cartridge and a bullet. This record has no ammunition filed against its chambering, so there is nothing to solve.
