Productos Mendoza named its two PM-1 pistols after Mexico's Mesoamerican heritage: the 9mm AZTK evokes the Aztec (Azteca) empire, while the .380 ACP MXIK nods to the Mexica, the people who founded Tenochtitlan on the site of modern Mexico City.
