About
What it is, and why it matters
The OTs-14 Groza is a select-fire assault rifle chambered in 9x39mm, produced by TsKIB SOO since 1994. This Russian-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 20-round magazine capacity, this assault rifle offers generous firepower for duty use and home defense. The 9.4-inch barrel maximizes accuracy potential and ballistic performance, making this an excellent choice for target shooting, competition, or field use. At 2700g (95.2 oz), this is a substantial firearm whose weight contributes to reduced felt recoil and enhanced stability during precision shooting. The steel frame provides a solid, premium feel with the durability to withstand decades of regular use and thousands of rounds. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.
The Groza earned its 'Thunderstorm' nickname from its formidable appearance combining a compact bullpup rifle with an underslung grenade launcher into a single package shorter than a standard AK-74. Despite its innovative modular design, the Groza never achieved widespread adoption, partly because the subsonic 9x39mm AS Val and VSS Vintorez already filled the suppressed special operations role more elegantly.
The weapon was produced in limited quantities by converting existing AKS-74U rifles. Several hundred Groza kits were manufactured. The MVD initially only procured the 9x39mm Groza-4 variant; the 7.62x39mm Groza-1 was manufactured later after additional clients were found. Both variants saw combat use during the Chechen conflicts in the mid-to-late 1990s. The Groza remains in some Russian police armories but is rarely used today, having been largely supplanted by more modern designs. The loaded weight of 4.0 kg includes the grenade launcher assembly.

Trajectory
What the round does downrange
Solved from the muzzle figures and the bullet. The dashed rule is the effective range on the record, and the crosses are the steps the solver returned.
No load solved for this record yetThe flight path is computed from a cartridge and a bullet. This record has no ammunition filed against its chambering, so there is nothing to solve.
