About
What it is, and why it matters
The T75 is a Taiwanese semi-automatic service pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, produced by the 205th Arsenal and based closely on the Italian Beretta 92. It uses a short-recoil, falling locking-block action with an open-top slide and a double-action/single-action trigger fed from a 15-round magazine. Adopted to replace the ageing locally produced Type 51 (M1911) pistols, it serves with the Republic of China Armed Forces and police, and has since spawned compact, suppressor-ready and modernized K-series variants.
Taiwan's answer to the Beretta 92, the T75 was built indigenously by the 205th Arsenal so the island's forces could field a modern 9mm sidearm without relying on foreign supply, finally retiring decades-old M1911 copies.
Produced by the 205th Arsenal of Taiwan's armaments bureau. Variants include a compact model with a shortened grip, a suppressor-ready version for special forces, and progressively updated K1, K2 and K3 iterations.
