It pairs a shrouded Lothar Walther barrel and factory-fitted Q-Tec silencer with a fully adjustable sporter stock featuring an adjustable cheekpiece and buttpad, making it a popular choice for hunting and field target shooting in the UK sub-12 ft-lb class.
Air Arms, based in East Sussex, built its reputation on field-target and hunting PCP rifles; the Ultimate Sporter became one of the brand's flagship sporting models, frequently topping UK airgun magazine group tests.
The base Ultimate Sporter is unregulated; the later Ultimate Sporter R adds a pressure regulator for greater shot-to-shot consistency. UK market guns are tuned to under 12 ft-lb (about 16 J) to remain licence-exempt; export versions are available at higher power.
