The Anschütz 1727 F is a .22 LR sporting and hunting rifle that mates the company's premium Match 54 barreled action to Peter Fortner's straight-pull toggle system. Ball bearings lock the bolt radially into the receiver, letting the shooter cycle the action with a short back-and-forth of the index finger without breaking cheek weld, giving near-semi-automatic follow-up speed with the precision of a match bolt gun. It feeds from a five-round detachable magazine, wears an oil-finished European walnut stock, and carries an adjustable 5020 two-stage trigger.
The Fortner action made Anschütz the standard-bearer of Olympic biathlon, and the 1727 brings that straight-pull speed to hunters and rimfire competitors. Its ability to recharge the chamber without lifting the rifle from the shoulder has made it a favourite for fast-paced small-game hunting and rimfire practical matches.
The 'F' designation marks the Fortner straight-pull action, the same mechanism that dominates Olympic biathlon in the 1827 F. Introduced at the 2013 SHOT Show, the 1727 is offered in .22 LR as well as .17 HMR and .17 Mach 2, with sporter (22-inch) and threaded heavy-barrel (18-inch) configurations.
