The Anschutz 1761 APR is a bolt-action precision rimfire rifle chambered in .22 LR, built on the compact 1761 action and fitted into an MDT XRS aluminum chassis. Marketed as the Anschutz Precision Rifle, the APR pairs a heavy blued match barrel with a threaded muzzle and recessed match crown, a 5061 two-stage trigger, a 30 MOA Picatinny rail, and a 10-round detachable magazine. It is aimed at PRS-style rimfire competition and long-range training as an understudy to centerfire precision rifles.
J.G. Anschütz of Ulm, Germany has dominated Olympic smallbore rifle shooting for decades, and the 1761 APR brings that match-grade rimfire pedigree into the modern chassis-rifle format popularized by Precision Rifle Series competition.
The APR is offered as a heavy-barrel (HB) model with a 21.4-inch (544 mm) barrel and a Long Range model with a 25.5-inch (647 mm) barrel. The MDT XRS chassis accepts AR-pattern grips and adjustable stocks. Empty weight of the HB is approximately 4.25 kg (about 9 lb 6 oz).
