The Caesar Guerini Maxum is an Italian over/under double-barreled break-action field shotgun built in Brescia. Offered in 12, 20 and 28 gauge with 3-inch chambers, it features a hand-polished coin-finished receiver hand-engraved by Bottega Incisioni C. Giovanelli and protected by Caesar Guerini's Invisalloy finish, a deluxe grade Turkish walnut stock with 26 lines-per-inch checkering, a swept-back open-radius pistol grip and Schnabel fore-end, a single selective trigger, and five nickel-plated flush-fitting interchangeable chokes. The 12-gauge model carries 28-inch barrels with solid center ribs and weighs about 3.2 kg.
Each Maxum receiver is decorated by hand at the Bottega Incisioni C. Giovanelli engraving studio, a collaboration that gives the collector-grade field gun old-world Brescian scrollwork on a modern boxlock action.
Sold in the United States through Caesar Guerini USA. The 20 gauge is the standard configuration; 12 and 28 gauge, plus 20/28 two-barrel and 20/28/.410 three-barrel sets, are available by special order.
