What it is, and why it matters
The FB PR-15 Ragun is a Polish full-size semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, developed by Fabryka Broni Lucznik - Radom to replace the WIST-94 in Polish military service. It uses a Browning-type short-recoil, tilting-barrel action with an external hammer and fully ambidextrous controls, feeding from 15-round detachable box magazines. Its aluminium-alloy frame carries a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail. Adopted in 2018 and renamed VIS 100, honoring the pre-war FB Vis pistol and the centenary of Polish independence.
Its VIS 100 name deliberately links the modern pistol to the legendary WWII-era FB Vis (wz. 35) while marking one hundred years of Poland regaining independence, positioning it as the spiritual successor to one of the finest service pistols of its era.
The name PR-15 derives from Pistolet Radom and the 2015 pattern year; Ragun is a portmanteau of Radom and gun. Renamed VIS 100 upon adoption; the export variant is marketed as the VIS 100 M1.
