About

What it is, and why it matters

Copy a link to this section

The Hämmerli 162 Electronic is a Swiss .22 Long Rifle single-shot free pistol built for ISSF 50-metre free pistol competition. It shares the action of the Model 160 but replaces the mechanical linkage with a battery-powered electronic (solenoid) trigger, offering an extremely light, lag-free, and finely adjustable release. Fitted with fully adjustable target sights, a stippled walnut grip with adjustable palm shelf and rake, and a barrel counterweight system, it was produced by Hämmerli AG of Switzerland from 1992 to 1998.

Free pistols like the Hämmerli 162 use one of the lightest triggers in all of shooting sports — its electronic release can be set so fine that a competitor's heartbeat is enough to disturb the aim, which is exactly why the solenoid trigger removes the mechanical creep of a traditional sear.

The electronic trigger is powered by two 6-volt lithium batteries and fires the round via a solenoid rather than a mechanical sear. The companion Model 160 uses a conventional mechanical trigger.

Trajectory

What the round does downrange

Solved from the muzzle figures and the bullet. The dashed rule is the effective range on the record, and the crosses are the steps the solver returned.

No load solved for this record yetThe flight path is computed from a cartridge and a bullet. This record has no ammunition filed against its chambering, so there is nothing to solve.

Studio

Every part that mounts on this, resolved

Not a list the maker typed out: the answer comes from the mounts this firearm exposes and the interface each part needs, so it stays right when either one changes.

  • Every part that mounts on any firearm in the catalogue
  • Interface standards, platforms and fit overrides
  • The same answers through the API and the MCP server

Requires a signed-in GunSpec account on the Studio plan. The answer is computed per part, so it is not part of the public record.
