What it is, and why it matters
The Lithgow F90 is an Australian-designed bullpup assault rifle that replaced the F88 Austeyr in service with the Australian Defence Force. Featuring a short-stroke gas piston system, non-reciprocating cocking handle, and modular composite receiver, the F90 delivers improved reliability, accuracy, and ergonomics over its predecessor. Available in 360mm, 407mm, and 508mm barrel lengths.
The F90 represents over a century of Australian small arms manufacturing at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory, which has produced military rifles since 1912.
Standard-issue rifle of the Australian Defence Force since 2015. Rate of fire: 740 RPM. Available in three barrel lengths.
