About

What it is, and why it matters

The Lithgow Model 24 is a bolt-action centerfire sporting rifle chambered in .22 Hornet, built by the Lithgow Small Arms Factory in New South Wales and marketed through Slazengers (Australia) Pty Ltd. Introduced in 1949, it was assembled on surplus SMLE No.1 Mk III (Lee-Enfield) actions rebarrelled for the .22 Hornet varmint cartridge, fitted with a sporter walnut stock, chequered furniture and graduated sights, and fed from a five-round detachable box magazine.

The Model 24 gave redundant .303 SMLE receivers a second life: Lithgow rebarrelled war-surplus Lee-Enfield actions into .22 Hornet varmint rifles sold under the Slazenger sporting-goods brand.

Part of the post-war Slazenger sporting rifle line that repurposed war-surplus Lee-Enfield receivers. Sold alongside a .410 shotgun model; production of the Slazenger sporting rifles wound up around 1961.

What the round does downrange

Solved from the muzzle figures and the bullet. The dashed rule is the effective range on the record, and the crosses are the steps the solver returned.

No load solved for this record yetThe flight path is computed from a cartridge and a bullet. This record has no ammunition filed against its chambering, so there is nothing to solve.
