The Miroku Model 3700 is a Japanese-made 12-gauge over/under break-action shotgun produced for clay-target and field shooting. Built on a monobloc boxlock action with a single selective trigger, automatic ejectors and a ventilated top rib, it was offered in field, skeet and trap configurations and in escalating decorative grades (Grade 1 through Grade 5) with increasing receiver engraving and higher-figure Turkish walnut stocks. The 3700 reflects the same manufacturing standards Miroku applies to the Browning Citori and Winchester over/under shotguns it builds under contract, and it remains a well-regarded, durable competition and sporting gun on the used market.
Miroku's decades of building over/under shotguns under contract for Browning and Winchester show through on the Model 3700 - buyers often described it as delivering near-Citori build quality at a considerably lower price, which kept the guns in demand long after production ended.
Chambered for 2 3/4" (70mm) 12-gauge shells. Commonly encountered with 26-30" barrels; 30" (762mm) is typical on trap configurations. Grade numbering (1/3/5) denotes the level of engraving and stock figure rather than mechanical differences. Superseded in Miroku's own-brand lineup by later models such as the MK38 and MK70.
