Nicknamed the 'Plinkster' for its role as an affordable plinking rifle, the 702 became one of Mossberg's most popular budget rimfire offerings, frequently selling at retail for around 100 to 120 US dollars.
Produced by CBC/Magtech in Brazil for Mossberg. Offered with synthetic stocks (black, pink) and an 18-inch blued or 21-inch chrome barrel; a Bantam version has a shorter length of pull. The bolt locks open on the last round.
