The Norinco JW-2000 is a side-by-side, double-barreled break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. Built on a forged-steel receiver in the classic 'coach gun' pattern, it features twin side-by-side barrels, two triggers, external 'rabbit ear' hammers, traditional extractors, a brass bead front sight and a checkered hardwood stock and forend. Manufactured by Norinco in China and widely imported into North America by Century Arms, it is valued as an affordable, compact short-barrel coach gun suited to cowboy-action shooting, home defense and recreational use.
The coach gun lineage traces to the short double-barreled shotguns carried by stagecoach guards in the American Old West, where 'riding shotgun' meant guarding the coach with exactly this kind of compact scattergun. The inexpensive Norinco JW-2000 became a popular modern stand-in for cowboy-action and Wild Bunch shooting matches.
Commonly imported and marketed in North America by Century Arms as the 'JW-2000 Coach.' Offered in both 12 gauge and 20 gauge, with chambers up to 3 inches and barrel lengths around 12 to 20 inches depending on configuration.
