About
What it is, and why it matters
The CMMG Resolute is a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine in CMMG's AR-platform rifle line, built around the company's patented Radial Delayed Blowback operating system. The delayed action uses angled locking lugs that keep the bolt closed until chamber pressure drops to a safe level, allowing a lighter bolt carrier and a noticeably softer recoil impulse than conventional straight-blowback PCCs. Configured as a full-length carbine with a 16.1-inch barrel, an M-LOK free-float handguard, and a complete suite of ZEROED ambidextrous controls, the Resolute targets competition and recreational shooters. Variants are designated by magazine pattern, with the Mk9 feeding Colt SMG-pattern magazines and the Mk17 feeding SIG Sauer P320 magazines.
The Resolute is the 16-inch rifle counterpart to CMMG's compact Banshee pistol/SBR. The wider Resolute family also offers direct-impingement models in conventional rifle calibers; this entry covers the 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback configuration. Common offerings include 14.5-inch barrels pinned and welded to 16.1 inches.
